Westenergy operates a modern waste-to-energy plant that gives purpose to unrecyclable material. We utilize source-separated combustible waste to produce about 40 % of the district heat needed in the Vaasa region and electricity for 7,000 households yearly. Furthermore, up to 80 % of our bottom slag is suitable material for e.g. concrete products and infrastructure constructions. In other words, Westenergy gives life to materials that cannot be recovered in any other way. We are part of the circular economy of the day and want to do everything we can for a clean and sustainable world.
