Energy Sector Drone Summit
Tuesday 17.3
The Energy Drone Summit brings together leading innovators shaping the future of drone operations in the energy sector. This seminar explores how autonomous flight, secure integration, and data-driven workflows are transforming the way energy infrastructure is monitored, inspected, and protected.
Through keynote presentations from Drone Guardian, Innoavia, and FlyNex, participants gain insight into cutting-edge developments in operational safety, airspace management, automation, and digitalization. The program culminates in a high-level panel discussion examining the practical challenges and opportunities of deploying drones at scale across the energy industry—highlighting how collaboration, standardization, and emerging technologies are unlocking smarter, safer, and more efficient energy operations.

Opening Segment
Introduction by Nina Jalo
Keynote Speaker I – Drone Guardian Presentation
Energy Week Keynote Presentation and Live Demo, Drone Guardian
At Energy Week, we will present Drone Guardian and demonstrate the system live on stage.
Drone Guardian is a lightweight, event-driven security platform that connects autonomous drone operations with existing sensor infrastructure. By linking physical sensors with automated drone missions, it transforms traditional surveillance into an active and responsive security solution.
When a connected sensor is triggered, Drone Guardian can automatically dispatch a drone to the defined location, providing immediate situational awareness through live video and mission data. The system integrates securely with external sensors via REST endpoints and supports flexible deployment models depending on operational needs.
During the live demonstration, we will show how a sensor event triggers a drone mission in real time, how the mission is managed through the web-based dashboard, and how operators maintain full visibility across drones, alarms, and sites.
This presentation offers a practical look at how Drone Guardian connects sensors and drones into one coordinated and scalable security platform for critical infrastructure.
Keynote Speaker II
Drone regulation: Enabler, Not Obstacle
This talk explores why harmonized EU regulations should not be seen as an obstacle for drone companies, but rather as a crucial safeguard that protects operations, reputation, and customers. It also highlights how professionally prepared operational authorisation applications and their supporting documentation can speed up authority processes and enable safe, scalable, and business‑driven drone operations.
Keynote Speaker III
From raw pixels to smart predictions: Building AI Models for Energy Infrastructure. How do you turn thousands of drone images into AI models that predict failures before they happen? Andrei Arvonen and Andreas Dunsch walk you through the complete pipeline: from raw aerial data collection and labeling, to training computer vision models, to deploying actionable insights for solar, wind, and grid operators. A practical look at the engineering behind AI-powered energy asset management.
