Pekka Tolonen

Pekka Tolonen is the Director of Solar business in Wärtsilä since 2017. Before this position, he joined the company as General Manager of Strategy and Business Intelligence for Wärtsilä Energy Solutions. Prior to this, he worked for over ten years at Finpro in different positions of leadership, developing and providing business development services to support Finnish companies’ international growth, and supporting foreign businesses’ investments in Finland. Before this, Pekka Tolonen worked in several international positions in nuclear energy industry for the first ten years of his professional career.

Pekka Tolonen holds an MSc degree in Energy Technology from Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland), and Executive MBA degree from Instituto de Empresa (Madrid, Spain).

Outside of work, he spends time outdoors with his wife and two teenage sons, and enjoys idle moments practicing guitar, golf and photography.
