Kaisa Penttilä

Project expert, Competence in Energy Transition Management project,
Vaasa University of Applied Sciences

Kaisa Penttilä (Dr Sci. Econ) works as a lecturer at Vaasa Unversity of Applied Sciences and as a post doctoral researcher at Hanken School of Economics. She successfully defended her PhD in July 2024 with the title Microfoundations of Strategizing in Transforming Business Ecosystems: A sensemaking approach. Her research focuses on managerial sensemaking in ecosystems, ecosystem value creation, and business models in the hydrogen economy. She was also the project manager of the Innovation Valley Ostrobothnia -project 15.8.2023-31.12.2024 and the H2 Ecosystem Roadmap for Ostrobothnia -project 1.9.2021-31.10.2022, both projects financed by the European Regional Development Fund. On top of her research and project activities she has written for more practitioner-oriented audiences.
