Westenergy operates a modern waste-to-energy plant that gives purpose to unrecyclable material. We utilize source-separated combustible waste to produce about 40 % of the district heat needed in the Vaasa region and electricity for 7,000 households yearly. Furthermore, up to 80 % of our bottom slag is suitable material for e.g. concrete products and infrastructure constructions. In other words, Westenergy gives life to materials that cannot be recovered in any other way.
