EnergyWeek brings the leading names in energy transition to Vaasa – more than 9,000 visitors attending

This year’s EnergyWeek strengthened the event’s reputation as a key meeting place for energy experts at the local, national, and international levels. EnergyWeek 2025 broke records with more organizers, more participants, more speakers, more matchmaking meetings, and more international guests than ever before.

Vaasa’s streets will once again be bursting with energy industry experts and international visitors during EnergyWeek 2026, held from the 16th to the 19th of March. The four-day event brings together energy companies, researchers, decision-makers and investors to discuss the energy transition, new technologies and solutions for a sustainable energy system.

EnergyWeek is one of the Nordic countries’ most important events in the energy sector. Last year’s event, like the ones before it, broke records: more than 9,000 participants from 52 countries took part in it. This year’s programme, held in the middle of one of the world’s most significant energy technology hubs, includes 41 seminars and offers talks and discussions about the most pressing issues in the energy sector today. There are over 240 speakers and more than 200 exhibitors.

Energy transition, energy security and investments are key topics

The EnergyWeek seminars will examine the transformation of the energy system from varied points of view. The week’s themes include, among others, renewable energy, energy storage, the hydrogen economy, the energy market and the digitalisation of the energy system.

The discussions will focus in particular on topical issues such as the energy transition, the security of energy supply and the kinds of investments in clean energy that will be needed in Europe over the coming years. Green hydrogen, energy storage solutions and the electrification of industry will also feature prominently in the week’s programme.

“Last year, EnergyWeek broke records in terms of participant numbers, international visitors and the number of seminars. This shows that Vaasa and the EnergyVaasa hub are attracting increasing interest around the world. We are expecting another very busy week this year, as energy industry experts gather to discuss solutions for the future,” says Kristoffer Jansson, Communications & Brand Manager at EnergyVaasa.

“This year, after a few years’ break, Ritz will once again serve as the venue for several seminars on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will allow more space for exhibitors and exhibition stands at the town hall,” Jansson explains.

“A prominent part of Thursday’s programme is the City of Vaasa’s ceremony to mark the start of its 2026 European Green Leaf year.”

The international event brings energy decision-makers to Vaasa

EnergyWeek is known for providing excellent networking opportunities. There will be numerous business meetings, matchmaking events and company visits that will bring together energy sector operators from around the world.

The event also offers journalists an opportunity to meet leading companies and experts in the energy sector and hear first-hand views on the energy transition, technological developments and investments in the sector.

Ambassadors from seven countries and a representative from NATO will be attending the opening ceremony on Tuesday. Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto will participate in Monday’s Energy and Climate Seminar.

Vaasa provides the stage for international energy expertise

EnergyWeek also highlights Vaasa’s position as one of the most significant energy hubs in the Nordic countries. The companies in the EnergyVaasa hub employ more than 13,000 energy professionals and develop solutions that are used in energy systems around the world.

More than 40 organisations collaborate annually to organise EnergyWeek, with EnergyVaasa / Vaasa Region Development Company VASEK acting as the event’s main coordinator.
