Powering Africa’s Energy Transition: From Access to Industrial Competitiveness
Hosted at Vaasa Energy Week 2026

The seminar Powering Africa’s Energy Transition: From Access to Industrial Competitiveness brought together African energy leaders, Nordic technology providers, legal experts and institutional partners to explore how Africa can accelerate its shift from basic electrification challenges toward building competitive, industrial‑ready energy systems. With energy demand rising across the continent, speakers highlighted the need for scalable grids, flexible generation, financially viable utilities and regulatory alignment with global markets. The session also examined the growing impact of EU climate regulations on African exporters and Nordic companies operating in African value chains.

Organised by the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) in partnership with Nordic Bridge Partner (NBP), the event created a platform for candid dialogue and practical insights from experts working directly within African energy systems. Participants gained a clearer understanding of emerging industrial energy markets, opportunities for Nordic–African collaboration and the pathways required to turn Africa’s energy potential into sustainable economic growth. The seminar underscored Africa’s position as a rapidly expanding clean‑energy and industrial market where Nordic expertise can play a transformative role.
