Fernando Machado

General Manager, Battery Cluster Portugal

Fernando Machado, born in Porto in 1977, holds degrees in Economics, Innovation Management, Public Administration, and an MBA, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management.

In 2008, he launched and led a technology incubation center, supporting the development of over 100 startups until 2017. From 2012 to 2013, he served as a technical specialist at the Ministry of Economy in Portugal.

He then led the Portuguese automotive cluster from 2017 to June 2023, before becoming Managing Director of Portugal’s Batteries cluster.
