The aim of Novia University of Applied Sciences’ research, development, and innovation activities (RDI) is to develop society and working life, and to be an active player in the regional and national innovation system. Novia UAS had 182 active projects year 2025 and the total value of the project portfolio was approximately 26.9 million euro.
Novia UAS collaborate with municipalities, organisations, and companies to support and strengthen our own regions. Through these collaborations we also strengthen our teaching. We collaborate with other universities both nationally and internationally. We work according to Agenda 2030’s sustainability goals.
Our core research areas are Sustainable Technology, Maritime Technology, Wellbeing in Society, Sustainable Businesses and Societies, Culture as Force for Change and Transformative Pathways in Bioeconomy.
