The main objective of the UUPO project entity is to respond to the workforce demand that has emerged in Northern Ostrobothnia in the field of renewable energy, such as solar and wind power as well as biogas and hydrogen production.

Within the project, a training pathway will be developed between the implementing organizations—JEDU, Centria University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Oulu—to meet the evolving needs of renewable energy production. The aim is also to enable new career pathways for people developing their skills or for those who have become unemployed from the peat sector.

The UUPO project entity consists of a development project and an investment project. The development project focuses on improving the content of the trainings and strengthening cooperation between regional organizations and companies. In the investment project, the implementing organizations create the foundation for the renewable energy training pathway.
