The concept of Electric aviation is said to increase accessibility and to lower emissions and operational costs. The first generation of Electric aircrafts will be especially suitable for regional operations.
The Kvarken region is characterized by long distances and natural barriers, and the east-west communications within the region are underdeveloped compared to the north-south domestic relations. The appealing characteristics of electric aviation should be a good fit for integrating the region in a sustainable way.
Currently there is a new green industry emerging in the Nordics profiled by forerunners like Northvolt, FREYR, Hybrit and H2 Green steel where the region’s availability of low carbon energy production is essential. Access to a world leading environment in green industry and sustainable energy production implicates possibilities for the next generation of aviation to be charged, supported and further developed in a sustainable way!
Curious of what the future of travelling in the Kvarken region could be like? In that case, meet up with the FAIR-team at Energy Week and learn more! You will also hear about the unique and ongoing development at Skellefteå Airport – where electric aviation already is reality!
