Environmentally Friendly Vehicles
18.3 Environmentally Friendly Vehicles 11:00-15:00
Welcome to the Environmentally Friendly Vehicles event organised on Saturday, March 18, at Vaasa Market Square!
There will be electric-, biogas- and bioethanol vehicles.
Experts will answer your questions, and you can learn, for example, how a car running on petrol can be converted into a natural gas or ethanol-powered vehicle. Additionally, charging stations of electric vehicles will be presented in the Market Square.

Wasaline, a cruise with the mose environmentally friendly ferry in the world.
Aurora Botnia
Aurora Botnia is a modern ropax-ferry with 2 cargo decks. It accommodates around 800 passengers and has a freight capacity of 1,500 lane meters for trucks and cars. The vessel is designed to be environmentally friendly, with a machinery running on a dual fuel and battery solution. The main source of fuel is liquefied natural gas, LNG. The vessel will also be able to utilise biogas.
Everything from the design of the ferry to passenger flows and customer experience is taking the environmental aspects into account. Here are some examples:
- Flexible use of passenger areas with intelligent ventilation and lightning
- Smart harbors and automatic registering of cars
- Smart cabins
- Environmentally friendly materials

Real-Time Simulator for Secure Critical Infrastructure – Fundamentals and Training 20&21 March 2023
We would like to invite you to “Real-Time Simulator for Secure Critical Infrastructure – Fundamentals and Training” organized by University of Vaasa, Riga Technical University, OFFIS, and National Technical University of Athens.

What will you gain from attending this training?
Participants will learn about Real-Time Simulation (RTS) systems, their importance, capabilities, and use to simulate critical infrastructure (especially smart grids) and associated scenarios. For this, fundamentals of Real-Time Simulation are introduced on the first day of training, then on the second day hands-on skills and applications will be presented. Selected scenarios from the industry will be given to participants. Finally, a workshop and an open discussion session where participants can share their ideas will be held.
After completing this training, participants will be able to describe Real-Time Simulation systems and bring their use and applications to their organizations. Additionally, participants will be able to join advanced courses on this topic.
