The R&D department of Centria University of Applied Sciences has strong interest in energy and material efficiency and sustainable energy solutions. One of the recently started projects (EVAKOT) is developing and testing borehole thermal energy storages (BTES) in real operational environment for storing solar heat and waste heats and utilizing storages during cold seasons. The project is conducted in cooperation with GTK (Geological Survey of Finland) and local companies.
